A modern Mini weighs as much as my mid-size luxury sedan. That is all.

Yeah, but you’re also comparing the larger four door model (with barn doors!).

To be quite frank, im more impressed by the inverse comparation

So what you are saying is that the 2008 Outback is basically a Corvette...
![]() 01/27/2020 at 17:37 |

Of course not.
The 2008 Outback had a manual option

I’ve been watching some Grand Tour again. When James May said the Miata isn’t a true sports car because of added features / weight, my eyes rolled so hard.

1990 Miata: 2,1,40 lbs
2000 Miata: 2,332 lbs
2010 Miata: 2,480 lbs
2020 Miata: 2,337 lbs
It’s actually lost weight in the last 10 years

I think comparing a hybrid is a little unfair
![]() 01/27/2020 at 17:50 |

you’re unfair

My car is also a four door, but if you want a different comparison a modern two-door Mini weighs as much as a six cylinder E46 sedan.

life’s unfair

Yea, not the best car to make a weight argument against.

Oh yeah, this game. This is my go to
You can get a C hallenger that’s heavier than an Odyssey.

1994 Grand Voyager: 3,
530 lbs
2018 Grand Caravan: 4,483 lbs
Nothing like tacking on almost 1k lbs.

To be fair to the new ones, those K vans were basically made of tinfoil and cardboard though

Mine’s heavier than the current 540i

It’s not like the new ones are built anymore solid.
Frankly, the old ones feel better built.
Also, they’re not K vans, they’re AS vans.

Sure, but if you wrecked the modern one you’d probably be uninjured

Eh, I’ve seen the result of a 90s van going head on with a 3/4 ton truck. I actually bought it for a parts vehicle, the driver walked away unscathed.
